Transit Strike Answer

Last transit strike happened in 1980 and lasted 11 days. I'm out of here tomorrow afternoon...going home for three days and then on to Cabo from 12/26 to 1/2.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! I likely won't be posting anything while on vacation...see you all in 2006.

My favorite of Anne Hathaway's looks in Brokeback Mountain Posted by Picasa

The MTA Strikes

I've been talking to people today who walked 60+ blocks to get into work. I say, SUCKERS! Stay home. Good thing I live four blocks from my office. Check out the story.
$5 to anyone who knows when last transit strike occurred and how many days it lasted. Glenn-you can't play.

Ford, Brokeback, and The Ricky/Nate Rumor

Ford actually does the right thing and reverses their decision to cut advertising in gay publications and sponsorship of LGBT events and organizations. Props to Ford for not caving to pressures of the AFA. As it turns out, the AFA is now speaking out and is admitting that they did strike a secret deal with Ford. I'm sure they'll quickly re-issue that boycott threat.

It's been almost a week now since I've seen it (hint: I'm a huge slacker)....but I have to say that Brokeback Mountain met all my expectations. It's an amazing film that you all should see. Heath and Jake turn it out and are both fantastic in the film. Michelle Williams (of Dawson's Creek fame) plays the mousy bare footed housewife perfectly and Ann Hathaway (of Princess Diaries) shines and shows that she is a true actress. You should see her hair and clothes in the movie, truly classic!

And last but not least....I may have told some of you about the Ricky Martin/Nate Berkus rumor. Well, it seems that Oprah may be spilling the beans. Okay, I doubt it, but check out this link about today's show.

Oh, one more thing.....Congrats to Heather and Mark. Love you guys!!!!

Coming soon: pictures from outing with my Chicago Starcom peeps...Holla back now! (you better be reading). Also, pictures from weekend home in Green Bay with Glenn. Now that's drop it like it's hot!

Maple Syrup Smell in NYC

I smelled it back in October and as I was going out for lunch yesterday, I smelled it again. NYC authorities can't figure out what it is. Should I be worried about this? It literally smelled like every apt/house in NYC was making pancakes drenched with maply syrup.

ps "My Humps" is an amazing track...don't doubt the gays.

My Humps

This is way too hot for words. Watch it. My Humps.

Going to see it this weekend....update on Monday to follow Posted by Picasa

Work it Mariah

As you all know, I'm a huge Mariah Carey fan. Grammy nominations were announced today and my girl got 8 nominations...take that biotch! Work it Mariah. Also, props to her "All I Want For Christmas" song from her 1994 xmas album. Who doesn't love this song??!!

Also, update on Ford: Advertising Age published an article yesterday stating the direct connections between Ford's decision to pull ads from gay pubs and AFA calling of the boycott.

Amazing Travel Deal, Martinique

Travel Zoo just sent out their Top 20 Travel Deals and one of them is a for a 4-night stay in Martinique, with air-fare (on American) included for $599 (from NYC). This is amazing, as it's usually very expensive to fly to Martinique.

Ari Gold, The Brits Get Married, and Ford

Just yesterday, I developed a strange obsession for Ari Gold. Ari is an openly gay, Jewish singer/songwriter and he's HOT. Check out his website. His music isn't bad either....check out his site for a few songs.

As many of you know, the civil unions for the gays goes into effect on Dec 21. George Michael and Elton John have already announced that they'll be getting married. The gays are lining up and started registering for their ceremonies last Monday. Gay.com (my new employer by the way, Planet Out, Inc) celebrated by projecting a huge image on Parliament.

Ford, shame on you. It appears that Ford has caved into the pressures of the AFA (American Family Association). All the facts are coming out right now, but it appears (allegedly) that Ford struck a secret deal with the AFA, in which Ford agreed to pull all advertising in gay publications in exchange for the AFA calling off their boycott threat. Ford is claiming their decision to cut gay advertising was strictly a "business decision". What do you think? Oh, and the two individuals from Ford who brokered the deal with the AFA are former Bush cronies.

Americablog provides the best coverage on this. The latest: Ford is withdrawing it's sponsorship of LGBT event. Losers.
